Healing

Healing is available before the service on a Sunday Evening at approximately 4.50-5.55pm (providing healers are available).

All our healers are registered and insured with the Spiritualists’ National Union and give freely of their time.

There is no charge, however donations to help with the running expenses of the church are always very welcome and appreciated.

“There is a great power in the universe which has never been subject to analytical scrutiny of laboratories, which cannot be resolved by chemicals or scalpels. Yet it is so real that it transcends all other forces which have been measured and weighed and dissected” (Silver Birch through the mediumship of Maurice Barbanell)”

Healing is open to everyone. You don’t have to be a member of the Church to participate. Nor do you need to have faith in the process. All are welcome. There is no charge but any donations are very much appreciated.

The definition of Healing is, “To try to make well by the laying on of hands and prayer.”

Healing is a fundamental part of the religion of Spiritualism and can be divided into two main categories: ‘Contact’ and ‘Absent’ healing.

Absent Healing consists of prayers and thoughts being sent to those who are unable to attend a healing session. Perhaps they are in hospital or residential home; live some distance away (even the other side of the world); or are simply unable to travel.

For almost 50 years, we have maintained a Healing Book at West Wickham Church in which anyone can write down the names of those who are in need of healing. They need not know that we are sending out our thoughts to them and many people have benefited unknowingly from our absent healing, giving us positive evidence that Absent Healing really works and that miracles can still happen.

Animals also benefit from healing and possibly respond to the healing energies even more readily than humans because they raise no barriers and, unlike humans, have no preconceived ideas or expectations.

Request to be added to our Spiritual Healing Book

At every service at West Wickham Church, we send out absent healing to those whose names are written in our Healing Book.

Now we can add names via our website too. Use the Absent healing form below and we shall send healing thoughts out during our service.
